From desert to coral riffs

On June 5 we arrived in Wadi Rum. After a short re-introduction to the people of Jordan Tracks we found ourselves on the back of the camles for the next two days. The next four days were a mix of scrambling, walking and being driven in our guide's ancient army truck.

As always Wadi Rum was a visual spectacle. The variations of beige, red and dark colours seem endless depending on the time of the day. The dark granite rocks and mountains give Wadi Rum a very special, almost extra-terrestrial touch.

Returning to Aqaba we chose to stay in a hostel at South Beach. We spent every day snorkeling for hours through the coral riffs in the shallow water just in front of the beach. Unfortunately we do not own a underwater camera.
