A journey through time and different cultures

We start in Mardin with its historical City Center beautifully situated on a hill, with a view to Syria.

First stop the next morning is at Deyr-ul-Zafaran a Syriac Orthodox Monastery. Then we go back in time and pay a visit to Göbekli Tepe, oldest cult site of the world. Along the timeline we continue to Sanliurfa believed to be the birthplace of Ibrahim in Islam. In Sanliurfa we stroll through probably the biggest bazar in the world.

We start the day with present-day Turkey at Atatürk-Dam, and then go 2000 years back to impressiv Nemrut Dag.

On our way to Gaziantep with its gorgeous Zeugma Mosaic Museum (Roman Mosaics) we have a tour on a artificial lake.

In Antakya we first have a look at Seleucia Pleria and the Mediterranean Sea before we visit the Roman Catholic Church.

After a short stop in Tarsus we have a walk through the huge underground city of Derinkuyu and enjoy our first evening in Göreme.

Around Göreme we visit Devrent Valley, Zelve Valley, Pasabag, Avanos, an Alevi monastery in Haçibektas, Uçhisar and Göreme Open Air Museum including a cruise in a hot-air ballon in the early morning .

On the way to Konya we stop at the Red Church and have then a walk through the marvellous Ihlara valley. Main attraction in Konya is the tomb of Rumi and the Monastery of Mevlana.

The last day brings us a stop in Beysehir at a beautiful mosque and a stroll through touristic downtown Antalya.

Thank you Kenan and Toni for this interesting journey!
