Land of Kasbahs, Tagine and Salad
From September 6 to September 20 we enjoyed first four days of High Atlas hiking near Toubkal followed by another four days of Sahara hiking south of Zagora followed by the last 4 days in Marrakech.
After 10 days of eating Tagine in a row we were happy to find ourselves with other dishes when staying in Marakkesh for the remaining time.
The beauty of the mountain and desert landscapes is as fascinating as the cultural differences between countryside and city. Let's have you, dear visitor, hijacked to the beauty of Morocco!
Atlas Mountains
Hassan, our High Atlas guide
Hassan was our mountain guide. It was interesting to listen to him what he had to say about the life in the mountains of the past and the future.
Walking with Hassan was a great pleasure. Looking forward to cross the High Atlas one day with him!
Whatever your plans may be for your stay in the High Atlas or the Sahara. Hassan is your man. Contact him directly via email: Hassan Jetane
Also, ask for his brother Rashid. He is the cook.
En route to Sahara
When transferring from Imlil in the High Atlas to Zagora we came through Ait Ben Haddou and Ouarzazate. This city was founded by the French and today is the moroccan capital of film making. Hollywood is a frequent guest.

Marrakesh
Do not look lost in the Marrakesh Medina labyrinths in the evenings. Otherwise you'll find yourself soon circled by coin vultures offering you very doubtful guiding services. Getting rid of them can become an agressive business.
